Most people would either say yes, preventing the holocaust and saving countless innocent jewish lives, or no, to prevent a worse fate that the world could have faced due to a change of historical events.
But none or at least very few people would think of trying to help Hitler... When Hitler is talked about nowadays the first things that most people emphasis are the monstrous events lead by no other than The Fuhrer himself, but after a little while in history class or through internet research you hear about how he transformed Germany, how he wanted the best for the German people. This made me think what if Hitler simply did not start the holocaust? What if he had stopped invading countries at the brink of war? How would he have been seen then? How would history change? I do know that the invading countries issue wasn't so clear cut, but the killing of jews was very clear cut, more of a Yes or No type of thing. Basically I'm using Hitler as my example of someone that had potential but fell into madness. Imagine the countless geniuses, creators, inventors and heroes lost because of mental instability. Truly we may eventually find the cure to cancer, HIV and autism, but it seems very unlikely we'll ever find one simple cure to mental problems such as narcissism, psychopathic illnesses, sociopathy and worst of all the irrational fear of things, especially other human beings...
